1. Using lucr.at

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Services in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to use the Services for any illegal, harmful, deceptive, or abusive activities. Examples of prohibited use include:

• Phishing, scams, malware, or harmful content
• Pornography or sexually explicit material
• Copyright-infringing content
• Redirecting to another link shortener to mask a destination
• Spam, automated abuse, or excessive usage beyond fair use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose security, legal, or operational risks to lucr.at or others.

2. Account Responsibility

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access.

3. Link Ownership and Inactive Links

3.1 Link Ownership: When you create a link through our Services, you maintain the right to use that link and control where it redirects, subject to these Terms.

3.2 Inactive Link Recycling: To ensure efficient use of our platform and maintain the availability of short slugs, links that remain inactive (receive zero clicks) for 180 consecutive days may be automatically recycled and made available for registration by other users.

3.3 Premium Links Exception: Premium links (1–4 character slugs purchased with a one-time payment) are exempt from the 180-day inactivity policy and will not be recycled, regardless of click activity.

3.4 Reactivation: If your link receives at least one click within any 180-day period, the inactivity timer resets, and your link remains active.

3.5 No Refunds for Recycled Links: We do not provide refunds or compensation for free links that are recycled due to inactivity.

4. Pricing, Payments & Promotions

Some features of lucr.at may require payment, including premium short links offered as one-time purchases. Prices are displayed at the time of purchase and are charged immediately.

• All payments are generally non-refundable unless required by law.
• Pricing may change at any time without notice for future purchases.
• Previously completed purchases remain valid under the terms agreed at checkout.

We may offer discounts, promotions, special pricing, bulk discounts, or social / creator offers from time to time. Eligibility, availability, and terms of such offers may vary and are not guaranteed.

For corporate, enterprise, or high-volume use cases, please contact us to discuss custom pricing or arrangements.

5. Advertisements & Promotions

We may display advertisements, sponsored content, or promotional messages within the Services, including on redirect pages, dashboards, or other areas of the platform.

Advertisements, if shown, will never alter the destination of your links without your control.

6. Your Content & Ownership

You retain ownership of the URLs and content you link to. You are solely responsible for ensuring your content does not violate laws or third-party rights.

By using the Services, you grant lucr.at a worldwide, royalty-free license to process, display, store, and transmit your links and related data as needed to operate the platform.

7. Our Intellectual Property

lucr.at, its code, design, trademarks, branding, and platform features are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, resell, scrape, or create derivative services based on lucr.at.

8. Fair Use & Limits

Free and paid usage may include limits. We may throttle, suspend, or restrict usage that exceeds reasonable or intended use of the platform.

9. Service Changes

We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We are not obligated to maintain legacy features.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available."

We make no guarantees regarding uptime, availability, or suitability for any particular purpose.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, lucr.at is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of data, lost revenue, or recycled links.

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 6 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold lucr.at harmless from claims arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or activities that threaten the platform.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia.

16. Changes to These Terms

Continued use of the Services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
